Position:  Programmer–Analyst / Technical Support (RA)

Start-date: Immediate

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Job description:  The job candidate will provide technical support for 
faculty, graduate and undergraduate students involved in human 
behavioral research. The focus of our research project is understanding 
how individuals learn motor skills, and how motor learning is acquired 
and maintained across the life span. Our test methods involve 
computerized recording of reaction time and accuracy, 3D motion capture, 
and neuroimaging techniques (eg. magnetic resonance imaging off-campus). 
The person must be willing to learn new software and be able to work in 
a team-based environment and enjoy solving problems in programming and 
analysis.

The qualified person will:

o Work with researchers to develop computerized experiments for 
behavioural research with human subjects.

o Work with C, C++, Java, C#, .NET  for Windows platform and 
C++,C for Linux platform

o Operate and maintain Real-Time 3D Motion Capture System

o Knowledge of digital signal processing and 3D graphics an 
asset but not required

o Act as System and Network administrator for Unix/Linux and 
Windows (2000, XP); perform backups

o Design, implement, and maintain lab websites (HTML, 
JavaScript) and the LAN

o Troubleshoot software, hardware, and common networking issues

o Purchase software and hardware
