From dxjones at gmail.com Wed Nov 26 19:08:08 2014 From: dxjones at gmail.com (David Jones) Date: Wed, 26 Nov 2014 19:08:08 -0500 Subject: [Loris-dev] starting clinical study, planning to use LORIS, seeking feedback on setup Message-ID: Hi, This may be slightly off topic for a "developers" mailing list ... We are considering LORIS for data collection in an upcoming longitudinal multi-site vision research study. I need to do some quick due diligence to confirm it is actually suitable for our needs. Our study will not have any "brain imaging", but we will have retinal imaging. My main question is whether we should be able to use LORIS straight from github without any additional programming. (I realize we'll need to customize (but not program) new "instruments" to match our paper data collection forms for behavioural data.) We will want to upload 2-D images, probably in some standard format (PNG, TIFF, etc.) (the image data will include: retinal images, optical coherence tomography (OCT), fundus autofluorescence (FAF)). I am based in Hamilton. The study will take place in Hamilton, Toronto, Montreal. If anyone on this list has set up LORIS for a similar study, especially at McMaster, UofToronto, UdeMonteal, I would be delighted if you might be available for a quick telephone conversation. We need to plan for computer and data storage needs, ... regular backup procedures ... and decide whether to host it on a computer in the lab, or on a host in the cloud. I am hoping someone who has been through this before with LORIS could provide a little practical guidance. thanks in advance, David Jones -- David Jones, PhD djones at pairwiseaffinity.com Pairwise Affinity Inc. 905-975-8694
