</span><span style="font-family: "Arial", sans-serif; font-size: 10.5pt;">What do our brains and starling murmurations have in common? What happens to the brain's electrophysiological properties under anesthesia? How are large-scale brain dynamics modified
by caffeine? How does meditation change neural complexity? Are the brains of people who remember their dreams different from the brains of those who don't? What does the phenomenon of pareidolia tell us about human creativity and its neural underpinnings?
More importantly, how am I going to pack all of this into one talk? I will attempt to do this by providing an overview of recent research from our lab where we combine human electrophysiology (MEG and EEG), with advanced signal processing, complexity science
and machine learning to explore the distributed neural dynamics underlying a variety of cognitive states and levels of consciousness.</span></p>
