It's a primer to get started with *Datalad*, a great tool to help with data management, data tracking & versioning, data sharing. Can be useful to many labs. Oh, and there's *free Pizza*! Please forward to your labs, relevant groups & mailing lists. We organize events, provide one-on-one support, and curate resources to make it easy for neuroscience researchers at all levels to integrate Open Science practices in their work. Check out our website to peruse resources, learn where to find us for drop-in office hours, book time with Open Science experts, and get involved! *DataLad: Hands-on workshop for tracking data* *Adina Wagner* Research Associate, Forschungszentrum J?lich In this months? workshop, we will introduce DataLad and its features for open and reproducible science, giving participants the chance to try out the tool with interactive hands-on examples, and introduce core concepts for open science, such as version control, digital provenance, containerization, or data publication. The workshop will focus on technical and conceptual aspects alike, and aims to equip the participants with skills they could transfer to the real-world data collected during their research. *Visit the event *web page * for more information.* Contact: open.science.office.hours at gmail.com tosi-traineecouncil.neuro at mcgill.ca *P.S. Sean was one of the first student members of the McConnell Brain Imaging Centre (BIC), and the person responsible for influencing much of our computational approach to brain imaging data analysis. He was one of the first people to work on co-registration of brain MRI and PET scans, and on measurements of cerebral blood flow with PET. Sean was born and raised in Montreal and studied electrical engineering at McGill University. He was recruited to the BIC by Alan Evans as a system manager but quickly demonstrated a broad knowledge and passion for the scientific side of BIC life. He decided to go down the academic path and undertook a PhD with Albert Gjedde. He went on to work in Aarhus, the Massachusetts General Hospital and later to NIH, where he was a pillar of the MRI program for many years. Sean leaves behind his wife Tori and sons Elijah and Keiran. We will remember him for his great knowledge of neuroimaging and computer science, joy in helping others, dancing every Friday night at Thompson House, and his electric smile, which never left him even as he battled illness in the past year.?He is remembered as one the founding forces of the BIC in its formative years. We will miss his wonderful, eclectic presence at HBM meetings, in Montreal, Boston and in Washington. ? Alan, Alain, Louis, Bruce, Julien. ? ? signature_2144055009 ? ?
