I have reserved a MRI slot for Wednesday - June 8th, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.  I realize that it is unfortunately late at this point to have an answer, but I just wanted to let everyone know that I will not be in the office on Monday, so will only be able to communicate with you on Tuesday morning. Dear All,

I have tentatively scheduled patient 02-016 (Pierre Desfosses) for his MRI this coming Wednesday - June 8th, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.  My only fear, is that they may not want to do the MRI so early in the morning unless they have 2 staff available as I indicated that the patient needs assistance of 2 individuals and that I would prefer he be transferred with the MRI compatible wheelchair to the scanner table.  I will not find out until Tuesday whether or not this time can be reserved for him as I will not be in the office this Monday and it is a bit too late this evening to hear back from the Montreal Neurological Institute (McConnell Brain Imaging Centre).  On Tuesday morning, if confirmed, I will let everyone know.  As the scan is for 8:00 a.m., I would reserve the taxi to pick us up for 7:00 a.m., and I would ask that his breakfast be held for when he returns.  I will call the patient and let him know.

I contacted Mr. Pierre Desfosses (314) and tried my best in French to explain to him in more detail exactly what is entailed regarding the MRI and TMS.  He said that he understood and that he wanted to help out and participate in the research study.  I explained to him that I will now proceed with booking the MRI for early next week but that I will let him know the date as soon as I have that information.  Of course I will be accompanying him for the MRI and I will let everyone know once it has been scheduled.

Hi Sharon,

From what I read in the chart, he was seen by geripsychiatry in acute care on 2022-05-08 because he had expressed suicidal ideations two days prior. The psychiatrist wrote that the patient has no intention to harm himself. He has not expressed any suicidal ideations since he has been at the Richardson. On the PHQ-9 he scored a 5 and denied any thoughts of suicide at the time I administered the screening tool.

Hope you are well!  Thank-you for bringing this patient to my attention.  I went to see him Wednesday, was just wondering, in his chart there is mention about him having "suicidal ideations".  Is this something he is having presently?  Has he mentioned this since being at the JRH? Do you happen to know who documented these suicidal ideations and if he was seen formally by Psychiatry? We would only consider including him if a formal Psych consult rules out any active suicidal ideations.   The concern about including such a patient is that if they were to act upon these "suicidal ideations" while in our TMS study, it could cause issues regarding relatedness to the TMS treatment.

The "fundamentals for neuro data science

person  hands-on course to acquire the python/linux toolbox for
neuroscience data analysis and ML in Python. It is targeting students who
have a little background in scripting but are not experts and would like to
solidify their computational and analytics skills.

Description:
Progressive diseases (e.g., neurodegenerative conditions) start with non-detectable clinical symptoms and may take years (or even decades) to develop. Predicting the distinctive individual course of a progressive disorder, and understanding its underlaying causes, is of crucial importance for accurate diagnosis and personalized therapeutic intervention. However, in practice, there are multiple challenges associated to this problem, such as a high inter-subject variability within the same disorder and the lack of robust disease biomarkers. A growing number of studies have attempted to overcome this gap by using Big-Data and sophisticated statistical and computational models, including novel Artificial Intelligence techniques. This course will focus on state-of-the-art neuroinformatic models (using multi-omics molecular, multi-modal brain imaging, wearable devices and/or clinical data) characterizing disease evolution and heterogeneity, with the ultimate goal of accelerating Precision Medicine in neurology.
Objectives of the section:
- To familiarize the student with the main concepts and requirements of disease progression/heterogeneity tools oriented towards Precision Medicine (PM).
- To understand the principles of state-of-art neuroinformatic models/tools based on multi-omics (e.g., [epi]genome, transcriptome), multi-modal brain imaging (e.g., PET, fMRI, DTI, MRI), medical records, wearable devices, and cognitive/clinical data.
- Design experiments and apply some of these models to real data.

Hi everyone,

We are missing a package that was mistakenly delivered to some other lab in the Neuro a couple weeks ago. Here is all the information we gathered from the supplier, carrier and the mailroom:
The courier service is called Performance Courrier, and the package would have been addressed to Thomas Singleton in North Wing room NW149 coming from Techni-V-AC in Blainville. It would likely be an envelope or small box, smaller than a shoe box. The package was delivered at 15:34 on Wednesday June 15, and may have been signed for by someone named Christina. The tracking number is 00987368.

If you know the whereabouts of this package or someone by name Christina at the Neuro who might have received it, please contact alexey.kostikov at mcgill.ca or thomas.singleton at mcgill.ca.
