Dear Dr Baillet,

I am contacting you on behalf of the McGill Science Undergraduate Research Journal (MSURJ). We are a student-run, peer-reviewed journal that publishes a variety of original research papers by undergraduate students at McGill. Our goal is for students to share their findings through clear, effective writing to further promote undergraduates’ involvement in research.

We are encouraging summer research students currently participating in a project to submit their work in our upcoming 11th anniversary edition to be released in 2016. They can find more information on our website, <http://msurj.mcgill.ca/> http://msurj.mcgill.ca -<http://msurj.mcgill.ca/-> submissions will be accepted starting August 1st. If you are supervising an undergraduate student, we would greatly appreciate if you could pass on this information.

We understand concerns from research groups that publication of data in MSURJ could limit its submission to standard academic journals. MSURJ serves as a voice for undergraduate research within McGill, and not a competitor to other journals. A number of prominent publishing groups have informed us that publication in MSURJ does not prohibit the submission of a paper to their journal. More details can be found on our website.
