[BIC-announce] Allen Institute for Brain Science tutorials July 17 at the Neuro ; Registration Required

Dear Colleagues,

Terri Gilbert, communications scientist at the Allen Institute for Brain Science, will visit the Montreal Neurological Institute on July 17 for an information session and a series of tutorials. In the morning, Dr. Gilbert will give an overview of the mission of the Allen Institute, available data as well as case studies. She will host tutorials in the afternoon, training anyone interested in using the Allen Institute’s data and resources.

Attendance is free, but pre-registration is required. To register, email events at alleninstitute.org<mailto:events at alleninstitute.org> and include “McGill Atlas Training” in the subject line. Please indicate which session(s) you would like to attend in the body of the message.


The Allen Institute has produced an extraordinary amount of data, which is freely available to everyone at brain-map.org<http://brain-map.org>. These data include neuro-anatomical atlases of gene expression in developing and adult human brain, DSI in developing human, gene expression in developing macaque, adult and embryonic mouse CNS also during sleep/wake cycles, and in human glioblastoma.
