Roberto is a young cell biologist who focuses on membrane trafficking events, primarily exo and endocytosis. He has developed an amazing system to study these processes, specifically intravital two-photon microscopy in rats and mice. He has also developed techniques that allow him to deliver DNA constructs to cells in the living animal. The techniques have been refined to the point that he can observe membrane trafficking events such as endocytosis and homotypic endosome fusion, providing a powerful tool to study the molecular machinery regulating endocytosis in a physiological context. The title of his talk is "Intravital microscopy to study membrane trafficking in live animals." It should be fun and I hope to see you there. Other CRLMB members had forwarded me your contact information and said that you would be interested in learning more about the presentation we are conducting on April 17th at the Hotel Le Cantlie; 1110 Sherbrooke Street West, Montreal. ANT provides complete solutions for the study of brain function in cognitive neuroscience and will be presenting in detail all aspects of our capabilities. They include EEG / ERP from 16 to 256+ channels with our Waveguard cap and custom designed sensor capability. ANT also provides TMS Visor navigation and precision targeting; simultaneously and with full co registration of our EEG technology. We will be able to show how this can be done manually or combined with a robot for automated stimulation . In conjunction with these technologies we will provide presentations of our fMRI MEG and NIRS technology either separately or simultaneously and with full co registration of our EEG technology. During this presentation we will show how easy it is to record and analyze data with our software packages as well. We will be conducting the two hour presentation twice for those that may only be able to make the morning or afternoon sessions. The morning session runs from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM and the afternoon session runs from 1:30 PM until 4:00 PM. These are open events to which anyone currently working with EEG /TMS/ fMRI /MEG/ NIRS technology or working on the peripherals will find educational and can help in furthering their existing research. The audience will be able to interact during and after the presentation and have personal one on one presentations of all the hardware and software capabilities if they would like to research further. Refreshments will be available for all attendees during both sessions. With your focus of work I felt you may be interested in this presentation. There is no reservation process as these are open session; however, I ask if you are interested in attending to email me back so I can plan for the appropriate number of attendees. Please feel free to forward this email or invite anyone who you feel would be interested from any organization. I am attaching some additional information to this email to further explain some of our capabilities. If you have any questions or need any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. If you had not heard about this before, you might be interested to know about the Charlie Rose Brain Series, which airs on PBS and explores one of sciences final frontiers: the study of the human brain. Over the course of this year, Charlie will interview the most knowledgeable scientists and researchers in hopes of illuminating a new topic of study. Each monthly episode will examine different subjects of the brain, including perception, social interaction, aging and creativity. They will also look at scientific discovery and advances in technology, in the hope that someday terrible illnesses such as depression, schizophrenia, and Alzheimer?s will be history. This month they examine the Aging Brain, and feature an interview with our very own Dr. Brenda Milner. For those of you without access to PBS, or who might not have caught the first few shows, it is possible to watch each of the episodes in this series after they are aired at: http://www.charlierose.com/view/collection/10702 Cheers! Vous devez vous inscrire via www.brainvision.com Pierre Jolicoeur Directeur, Laboratoire MEG CERNEC English version We are happy to announce that the EEG analysis workshop planned for April 21, 22, and 23, will take place on the campus of Universite de Montreal. The workshop is sponsored by Brain Vision, CERNEC and QBIN (Quebec Bio-Imaging Network). Detailed information on workshop content, schedule, and events can be found at the following web site: http://www.brainvision.com/events/ IMPORTANT: All participants must register via the www.brainvision.com web site, and pay for the package of their choice using the mechanisms available at this site (local UdeM and QBIN members should inform Brain Products of this affiliation and they will receive an immediate partial discount). Note, however, that CERNEC and QBIN students/staff will later receive an additional substantial rebate of the registration fee thanks to the sponsorships from Brain Vision, CERNEC, and QBIN. At the moment, we expect that the final cost of the full package (all 3 days) will be less than $100 for CERNEC and QBIN students and personnel. Final costs will depend on participation numbers. We hope to see you in large numbers at this high-level training workshop. Please note that the Doodle entry was not a registration but only a survey.
