KILLAM LECTURE - TODAY

Speaker: Bruce H. Appel, PhD, Department of Biological Science,
Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN

Title: In Vivo Imaging and Genetic Analysis of Vertebrate Glia
Development

Time: 4:00 pm

Place: de Grandpre Communications Centre

------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------

The April 22 Killam lecture will be given by Bruce H. Appel, PhD, Dept
of Biological Sciences, Vanderbilt University, Nashville. The Appel lab
uses in vivo live cell imaging to investigate molecular genetic
mechanisms that regulate cell fate specification, cell migration, and
differentiation in the developing zebrafish nervous system. Recent
papers have provided exciting insight into mechanisms of oligodendrocyte
migration and differentiation, and evidence for a new class of CNS
derived glial cells.

The title of his talk is,

In vivo imaging and genetic analysis of vertebrate glia development

Please join us for a fascinating seminar.
